I have included the little olive tree, now 3 feet high that I grow in a pot on the patio, out of a sense of watery destiny today. Perhaps the presence of the olive might persuade the weather to give up its grip, although the weekend forecast is far from promising.
I bought this little tree about 3 years ago and it has grown outside in a south facing spot in a pot ever since, which will give you some idea of how mild our winters are now. It flowers copiously every summer and the flowers are followed by a myriad small olives, a few of which attain maturity. There’s not enough for oil yet, but watch this space!
