red 3

Last summer I had a single hollyhock in my garden (picture top left), growing right in front of my kitchen window. It was in its third year, but last winter I lost it.

This year, I have the children. I’m very proud of them, although I think she might have been out and about a bit, as the family resemblance s is, well-not always there! What a flirt she must have been with those bumble bees.

  1. I love hollyhocks, yours are lovely specimens. I only have one in my garden this year, the pink colour of your third photo. Mine usually suffer terribly from rust. x

  2. I just came over from Norah’s, and I’m so glad I did. These hollyhocks take my breath away. In fact, your whole blog is lovely. I’m adding you to my list of “first-thing-in-the-morning-reads, ” so I can get get a visual fix and start my day beautifully!
