Blue ribbon

Two views of the long border in mid March, half mulched. I ran out of arm and shoulder power  to finish it at the weekend.

I’m growing pulmonarias in this border, which appreciate shade from the birches and pines in summer. There’s a small collection of named varieties – Opal, Diana Clare, Sissinghurst White, Trevi Fountain, Blake’s Silver and a couple of unknowns. At this stage of Spring the leaves are as fresh and lovely as the flowers and the self seeding chionodoxas and forget me nots accentuate the blue. I’m liking it so much I’m going to add to it. Any recommendations for other pulmonarias?
